CMLS Names Betsy Hanson Its New Director Of Operations

CHICAGO — The Council of Multiple Listing Services (CMLS) named Betsy Hanson director of operations for CMLS, starting on April 11.

Hanson is currently the Chief Operating Officer and Legal Counsel for the Cape Cod & Islands Association of REALTORS® and Cape Cod & Islands MLS. She manages a team providing all aspects of trade association support, including development of policies and procedures.

“I was excited to see the posting for the new Director of Operations position at CMLS,” said Hanson. “The CMLS conference is by far my favorite to attend, particularly the legal seminar, and I am inspired by the tremendous room to grow an already successful organization.”

Hanson has more than five years of combined MLS experience, which includes serving as an MLS director prior to attending law school. She also has a proven record of transforming organizational policies and standards to ensure the long term success of an organization.

“The selection process was a remarkable success in terms of the number of candidates and how many were uniquely qualified for the position,” said Denee Evans, CEO of CMLS. “After a number of candidates were advanced through several rounds of interviews and assignments, we made a unanimous decision to offer the position to Betsy Hanson. She has the experience, commitment, and passion to help us achieve the vision set by the CMLS board of directors and make a positive impact within the real estate industry.”

Hanson is a native of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She possesses a juris doctorate from Suffolk University Law School as well as Massachusetts Broker’s and Law licenses.

It was formed as a premier forum, advocate and resource in 1957.
