Green Is Growing And MLSs Are Responding: Download CMLS Resources

Homes are greener than ever today – driven by consumer demand, improving technology and the benefits of comfort, safety and utility bill savings. The MLS community has been behind this shift from the beginning with new resources rolling out regularly. Last week CMLS and the Green Section Council launched the new CMLS Quick Start: Guide to Green MLS Fields. This ground-breaking guide makes it simpler than ever for MLSs to identify and implement key fields and make home performance indicators part of the everyday home sale transaction process.
The CMLS Green Section Council is our grassroots engagement group, focused on advancing best practices, sharing home-efficiency information, and making that information easily accessible to help MLSs better serve the buying and selling public. Over the years, CMLS and the Green Section Council have released a number of home energy information resources. Our most comprehensive resource will be launching this summer: the first-ever CMLS Green Data Best Practices guide. The guide will include pioneering content that addresses the change management effort to make home performance indicators an everyday part of the home sale process.
In the meantime, in honor of the 48th annual Earth Day this past Sunday, CMLS is looking back and looking ahead to resources where our members have contributed. Collaboratively, we’re working with key partners to build a better marketplace. For example, the Council of MLS is proud to be a founding member of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Home Energy Information Accelerator.
What is your green goal? Use CMLS home energy information resources to get there.
CMLS is supporting the industry to make sure that home performance indicators are represented in MLSs systems, and that agents, appraisers, buyers and sellers are empowered to use them as a regular part of the home sale process.
