CMLS Names New Officers And Directors For 2019

HENDERSON, Nev. – The Council of Multiple Listing Services (CMLS), the professional trade organization that serves the Multiple Listing Services industry, has elected new officers and directors for 2019. They will assume their positions in January 2019.
Chris Carrillo, CEO of Metro MLS (Wisconsin) will serve as chair; Brad Bjelke, CEO of UtahRealEstate.com (Utah) was named chair-elect; and Matthew Consalvo, CEO of Arizona Regional Multiple Listing Service, Inc. (Arizona) was elected secretary/treasurer.
All three will serve one-year terms. They will be joined on the CMLS executive committee by current chair David Charron, chief strategy officer of Bright MLS (Maryland), when he becomes past-chair in 2019.
“Watching the CMLS board of directors evolve into a strategic governing body that is ready to create new opportunities that lead to a better marketplace is truly amazing,” said Denee Evans, CEO of CMLS. “As we see the real estate industry continue to transform itself, the MLS community will be required to demonstrate remarkable flexibility, deliberate action, and incredible clarity. I know these are the right individuals who are ready, willing, and able to lead our members.”
New and re-elected MLS directors for three-year terms include: David Howe, vice president of MLS Operations at MetroList Services Inc. (California); Carrie Kendall, general manager of Indiana Regional MLS (Indiana); and Sean Murphy, executive vice president at MLS of Southern Arizona (Arizona).
They will join Glenn Christoph, CEO of Intermountain MLS (Idaho); Merri Jo Cowen, CEO of My Florida Regional Multiple Listing Service (Florida); Mike Cotrill, CEO of Greater Tulsa Association of REALTORS® (Oklahoma); Anne Marie DeCatsye, CEO of Charlotte Regional REALTOR® Association/Carolina MLS (North Carolina); Rebecca Jensen, president and CEO of Midwest Real Estate Data LLC (Illinois); and Sam Scott, director of information and commercial services at Houston Association of REALTORS® (Texas).
Also, newly elected is Katie Smithson, director of enterprise services at W+R Studios (Georgia). She will serve as business partner director. This is a three-year term.
Business partner directors represent business partner members, which are composed of companies and organizations that provide products and services to MLS organizations. Other CMLS business partner directors include: Andy Woolley, vice president of industry development at Homes.com (California); and Lucie Fortier, executive leader, product management of CoreLogic (British Columbia).
All MLS directors were elected by the general membership. The board of directors elects officers and business partner directors.
Election results were shared at CMLS2018 in Orlando, Fla., which is the MLS industry’s annual conference. CMLS2018 was organized and supported by MLS member organizations and 35 business partners, including Homes.com, Remine, Zillow Group, Realtor.com, CoreLogic, ShowingTime, Flexmls, W+R Studios, and Apartments.com.
