The person we select will have strong conceptual thinking and self-management skills and be an expert in their field. If you have a track record of building strong relationships, getting results, and developing successful programs this position may be for you! We are seeking a Director of Programs who is a Leader, a Team Player and a Collaborator who engages our members to discover and evaluate MLS issues and marketplace opportunities to then determine the best course of action. The Director of Programs will have a strong work ethic, the ability to thrive under pressure, and balance a diverse range of responsibilities including: - Identifying and promoting MLS best practices,
- Developing of MLS policy proposals,
- Creating industry resources,
- Facilitating MLS education and training programs,
- Building content and program agendas,
- Translating complex MLS policy and procedures into simple language
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of proven experience within the real estate ecosystem, 3+ years working in or directly with the MLS as it relates to policy, customer service, compliance, and training. Strong presentation, teaching, public speaking skills are a must. Experience with AMS, content management systems, technical/policy writing, and a bachelor’s degree are preferred. Other key points:
- Reports to the CEO
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Be knowledgeable in Zoom Video Conferencing
- Be organized with attention to detail
- Utilize discretion and good professional judgment
- Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment where great performance is rewarded
- Work with minimal supervision
- Autonomy and responsibility are expected, self-starting and resourcefulness are required
- Travel approximately 25% of the time
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: - Develop, refine, plan, implement, and lead CMLS programs in accordance with our strategic plan and leadership priorities, while carrying out the CMLS mission, vision, and values.
- Develop an annual operating plan with short and long-term goals and objectives and an annual budget to support the plan in order to achieve the successful outcome of the programs.
- Maintain and improve existing programs (CMLX, Best Practices, Policy, Self-Assessment Tools).
- Identify and coordinate classes, workshops, and webinars in collaboration with workgroups and committees, develop agendas, content, and resources in alignment with strategic plan.
- Engage, support, and coordinate volunteers on workgroups and committees.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure marketing, communications, and event logistics align with overall organizational goals and desired outcomes.
- Ensure staff has training on programs and MLS/industry topics.
- Serve as the leading industry resource and provide subject matter expertise on MLS Best Practices and Policy.
- Build relationships with members and maintain partnerships/alliances with stakeholders.
- Develop mechanisms to identify key industry issues and to determine the role CMLS can take to improve policy, process, and education for our membership.
- Proactively solicit feedback from membership/volunteers/stakeholders to identify future needs of MLS and ORE; stay abreast of current and future landscape understanding the needs, wants and desires of membership.
- Work closely with CEO to identify and advise on MLS and industry trends and their potential impact to membership and ORE.
- Translate MLS policy/data/topic terms into a message suitable for multiple audiences.
- Attend and participate in Industry Events as needed.
