The honor is a means of recognizing and acknowledging a lifetime of leadership, energy, and intellect that improves and elevates the multiple listing services industry. “John Mosey is a true Champion of MLS. He has worked tirelessly over the course of his career to provide innovative solutions to solve industry pain points. His impact and influence will leave a profound effect on the MLS community,” said Denée Evans, CEO of CMLS. Mosey is a native Canadian and naturalized US citizen who has spent more than 40 years working with organized real estate on both sides of the border. He began his career in Toronto with a company that later became part of the Data Management Services Division of Moore Corporation. He ran business units in Vancouver, B.C., and in Pleasanton, CA, before returning to Toronto and eventually taking charge of the company’s Canadian operations in 1993. In 1994 Moore transferred Mosey and his family to Minneapolis where he was named VP, Sales for North America. In addition to growing sales and building profitable online services business, he held P&L responsibility for the MLS Book, Tax and Homes Magazine units of the company. In 1998, John was asked to take over leadership and direction of Cyberhomes, Moore’s flagship real estate website. In early 2000, Moore Data Management was sold to VistaInfo and Mosey left to lead a start-up in the early days of Showings technologies. Recruited for the role of president and CEO of NorthstarMLS, Mosey has spent the last 20 years turning the regional MLS into an economic engine that in 2021 facilitated 104,631 real estate transactions valued at $35.5 billion.
